This line of research studies both the effects of the transmission line on the environment and, in the opposite direction, the effects of the environment on the lines.
In the first case, we have the consequences of electromagnetic fields in living beings, electromagnetic interference and audible noise. The effects of electromagnetic fields took on greater importance from Law 11.934 and from Resolutions ANEEL 398 and 413, which created a series of new obligations for all agents. Audible and electromagnetic noise are studied as effects derived from the corona phenomenon, which occurs in high voltage installations.
In the area of action of the environment over transmission lines, studies and monitoring of climatic variables (solar radiation, wind, rain, air temperature, humidity, atmospheric discharges) and their actions are carried out in both mechanical and electrical in studies of ampacity and performance against atmospheric discharges.
